Malena Marcase
Malena Marcase began singing before she could talk. From her humble origins in Kansas City’s musical theater scene to performing for thousands at MLB games, she has found a unique individual style of silky-smooth heartfelt pop centered around her soulful, storytelling voice. With a delicate balance of acoustic warmth and electronic power, her songs bask in brilliantly crafted melodies coated with potent lyrics. She has written hundreds of personalized songs for Songfinch, and in 2019 she released her debut single “Coffee”. Look out for her upcoming EP Roses this fall.
Malena has a degree in Commercial Music and Music Business from Belmont and a masters in Contemporary Performance and Production from Berklee.
Michael Shanks
Around the world from Buenos Aires to Beijing, Michael Shanks has thrilled audiences with his music. Hailing from Houston, his personal blend of psych-pop, funky grooves and fantastical lyrics paints vibrant images in the listener’s mind. Shanks’s most recent single, “Creature of the Night”, has been called the darkly whimsical lovechild of Jimi Hendrix and Tom Waits. Michael is also a seasoned touring musician who has shared the stage with numerous world-renowned artists such as Suzanne Vega, Mando Saenz, Duncan Sheik, Jovino Santos Neto, Caretta Bell, and Down North.
As a producer, Michael’s work has garnered hundreds of thousands of streams while working with an array of diverse artists, including vishruti, a Spotify Fresh Finds India Pick of 2021.
